Ludwell Yancy was born on July 19th, 1807 in Germantown, Mason Co., KY.. Ludwell Yancy's father was Hon. Thomas BROWNING and his mother was Elizabeth SEWRIGHT. His paternal grandparents were Joshua BROWNING Sr. and Nancy Anne SCOTT. He had eight brothers and two sisters, named Edmund Woodville, John Leroy, Woodville B., Robert Lewright, Alfred, Theodric-Frederick Lee, Charles, Thomas, Harriett Leewright and Susan Elizabeth. He died at the age of 37 on April 5th, 1845 in Mason Co., KY.. He was buried in Shannon Cemetery.General Notes
Ludwell Yancey was a farmer, and later a postmaster at Shannon, Kentucky. He married Julia Reed on April 5 1825, and they had six children. Three had families.
