Cecil was born on August 10th, 1907 in Sunfield, Perry Co., IL.. Cecil's father was Merida Ransom BROWNING and his mother was Bessie L. PIERCE. His paternal grandparents were Oliver Columbus "Lum" (Lum) BROWNING and Alice BROWN. He had a brother and a sister, named Carroll and Ruby. He died at the age of 49 on November 5th, 1956 in Chicago Cook Co., IL.. He was buried in Old Du Quoin Cem., Du Quoin, IL..General Notes

Cecil had no middle name but he wanted one, so he used the name Charles.
Cecil was in a fight when he was about 9 years of age and damaged his lungs. At the age of 11 or 12, he had to start smoking as that was the only way to get the medication into his lungs. He would have to go to the pharmacy to get the cigarettes.
Cecil owned his own truck and delivered coal while in Perry County, IL. He was making a decent living but his wife Helen had set her sights on the big city and they moved to Chicago living in Chicago Cecil became a brick layer. He would tuck point inside furnaces.
His mode of dress was always a white shirt, tie, overcoat and hat.
