Ida D. was born in February 1896 in Tennessee. Ida D.'s father was Andrew Daniel Overbey and her mother was Cynthia Etta Hendricks. Her paternal grandparents were Wilson Overbey CSA and Amanda Gossett. She had two brothers and three sisters, named Lenard C., Murray C., Manda M., Gracy A. and Icy L.. She was the second oldest of the six children.-
