Alice was born in August 1890 in Montgomery Co., Georgia.  Alice's father was Benjamin Morris and her mother was Mary (Unknown).  Her paternal grandparents were James A. Morris and Margaret (Unknown). She had four brothers and two sisters, named William, James, Charles, Bishop, Elizabeth and Hattie.  She was the third youngest of the seven children.
