Homer Eugene was born on July 22nd, 1880 in Montgomery Co., Georgia.1 Homer Eugene's father was William Eugene Mathias and his mother was Mary S. Carlile. His paternal grandparents were Richard (nmi) Mathias and Susan Cooper; his maternal grandparents were Seaborn Carlile and Virginia Cooper. He had a brother and two sisters, named William B., Jessie and Lois Josie. He was the youngest of the four children. He died at the age of 83 on March 21st, 1964 in Vidalia, (Montgomery Co.), Georgia.2 General Notes
