W. Jenkins was born on July 19th, 1885 in Lyles, (Hickman Co.), Tennessee. W. Jenkins' father was George M. Dallas Martin and his mother was Mary Parker. His maternal grandparents were Turman Parker and Lydia Tony. He had three brothers and three sisters, named Jerome Berry A., George B., William, Amanda Elizabeth, Julia Frances and Georgia. He was the second youngest of the seven children.-
