Alice Tranter was born about 1896.1  Alice Tranter's father was William Henry Jones Sr. and her mother was Sarah Jane Hollinshead.  Her paternal grandfather was Charles Jones; her maternal grandparents were Thomas Hollinshead and Ann Adderly. She had a brother and three sisters, named William Henry, Elsie May, Ethel Mae and Sarah Ann.  She was the third oldest of the five children.
