Mary was born on December 3rd, 1686 in Chester, Pennsylvania. Mary's father was Andrew Jobe Jr and her mother was Elizabeth Vernon. Her paternal grandparents were Andrew Jobe Sr. and Elizabeth (Unknown); her maternal grandparents were Thomas Vernon and Elizabeth Maxwell. She had eight brothers and three sisters, named Benjamin, Jacob, Thomas Vernon, Enoch, Abraham, Caleb, Archibald, Joshua, Hannah, Patience and Margaret. She was the oldest of the twelve children.-
