Eva was born on November 19th, 1899 in Montgomery Co., Georgia.1  Eva's father was Joseph Saul Jefferson and her mother was Frances Bailey.  Her paternal grandparents were Thomas Jefferson and Matilda McConte; her maternal grandparents were Henry James Bailey and Margaret Conway. She had seven brothers and five sisters, named Joseph, Thomas William, John Solomon, Norman, Julian Pierce, Edward, James Dan, Susan Roselie, Margaret Catherine, Annie, Lela and Ethel.  She was the fifth youngest of the thirteen children. She had a half-brother and a half-sister, named Curtis Lee and Alice Matilda.  She was buried in Holly Springs, Texas.1
