Elizabeth Phoebe was born on March 8th, 1909 in LaBelle, Pennsylvania. Elizabeth Phoebe's father was John Frick Hepler and her mother was Phoebe Ellen Reed. Her paternal grandparents were William G. Hepler and Florinda Frick; her maternal grandparents were Josiah Reed and Elizabeth Cotton. She had a brother and two sisters, named Charles Frick, Florinda and Margaret Isadore. She was the youngest of the four children.-
