Mary Best 
Mary's father was George Best and her mother was Sarah Francis Fulkerson. Her paternal grandparents were Adam Best and Elizabeth LaFollette; her maternal grandparents were James Reid Fulkerson and Matilda Ann Kerrick. She had seven brothers and four sisters, named Walter Timothy, Johnny, Amos, Dugan, Hal, Homer, Les, Carthy, Clemmy, Florence and Lizzie.General Notes
She was frequently called "Little Mary." She graduated from WesternKentucky State College in Bowling Green. She was a popularschoolteacher, a gifted storyteller and artist. She and her husbandspent several years in Germany, and did extensive traveling beforeretiring to Tennessee.
