Margaret B. was born about 1625 in Middletown, (Monmouth Co.), New Jersey.1 Margaret B.'s father was Thomas Applegate and her mother was Elizabeth Mary Wall. Her paternal grandfather was John Applegate. She had three brothers and two sisters, named Bartholomew, John Daniel, Thomas B., Helena and Arien. She was the third oldest of the six children.
