Susan Ann was born on February 28th, 1856 in Mill Creek, (Hickman Co.) Tennessee. Susan Ann's father was William Thomas Allen and her mother was Mary Paralee Beasley. Her maternal grandparents were John Pitts Beasley and Mary Bates. She had three brothers and seven sisters, named John Henry, Little Berry James, William Andrew, Narcissa Elizabeth, Sarah Francis, Clary T., Catherine Palestine, Rosie M., Idella J. and Lewithy M.. She was the fifth oldest of the eleven children.-
