Anna was born about 1508 in Wesel, Rhineland, Prussia.1   Anna's father was Zailen and her mother was Gesina Zailen. She had three brothers and a sister, named Roeloff, Johan, Gerlich and Aletta.  She was the youngest of the five children.1
