Bertha Yerke 
Bertha was born on May 27th, 1884 in Lansing, Ingham Co, Michigan.1 Bertha's father was William Yerke and her mother was Maria Hoppe. Her maternal grandparents were Ludwig Hoppe and Wilhelmine Maussau. She had six brothers and a sister, named Herman Friedrich Wilhelm, Harry, Carl Ludwig, Johann Emil, Emil Benjamin, Adolph and Martha. She was the fourth oldest of the eight children.1 -
