Mary Gates Wood

Mary Gates was born on April 3rd, 1855 in Sullivan, Tioga Co., Pennsylvania.¹ Mary Gates' father was Solomon Lemuel Wood and her mother was Amanda Doty. Her maternal grandparents were Benjamin Doty and Jerusha Wright. She had four brothers and five sisters, named Frank L., Welland, Norton, Ernest, Elizabeth, Grace, Lydia, Leila and Katherine. She was the oldest of the ten children. She died at the age of 102 in May 1957 in New York.¹
