Joanna was born in 1644 in Wethersfield, Hartford, Connecticut.1   Joanna's father was Richard Wescott and her mother was Joanna. She had five brothers and three sisters, named John, Richard, Daniel, Nathaniel, Samuel, Abigail, Sarah and Deborah.  She was the second oldest of the nine children.  She died at the age of 34 in 1678 in Stamford, Fairfield, CT.1
