Richard Westcott:
Richard Westcott was in Weathersfield by 1636 and moved to Fairfield, Connecticut about 1645. Four of his children, Joanna, Abigail, John and Daniel moved on to Stamford by the early 1600s. Son Daniel was a sergeant in King Phillip's War. Historians agree that Richard and William who were first at Salem in 1636 were brothers of Stuckly Westcott. William with his brother Richard, left Salem and in 1639 settled at Weathersfield, Connecticut then removed in 1644 to Fairfield, Connecticut where Richard died in 1651. Son John and his son Richard were 2 of 22 founders of Bedford, New York in 1680. (The above was from The Early Settlement of Stamford, Connecticut 1641-1700; Jeanne Maudalany and from The History and Genealogy of Some of the Descendants of Stuckley Westcott; Whitman; 1932.)
