Henry Clay Van Voorhees

Henry Clay was born on April 18th, 1839 in Athens, Ohio.¹ Henry Clay's father was Abraham Van Voorhees and his mother was Mary Workman. His paternal grandparents were Abraham Van Voorhees and Catherine Doty. He had two brothers and five sisters, named Nelson Holmes, Andrew Jackson, Almyra, Jane Cheevers, Elizabeth Dill, Lovisa Stearns and Maria Logan. He was the youngest of the eight children. He died at the age of 48 in March 1888 in Alaska.¹
