Mildred Dean's father was John W. Tucker and her mother was Bessie Mcgalliard. Her paternal grandparents were William Dempsey Tucker and Nicey Newborne. She had six brothers and four sisters, named John Howard, Tommy J., William Dempsey, Freddie Eugene, Mack, Richard Neil, Allie Mae, Irene, Macy Lee and Mamie Lou.-
