Newton Thomas

Newton was born in 1860 in Newton, Arkansas.¹ Newton's father was Vincent W Thomas and his mother was Sarah Sally Spivey. His paternal grandparents were Ira John Thed Wilson and Mary Elizabeth Betsey Thomas; his maternal grandparents were James Spivey and Mary Johnson. He had six brothers and two sisters, named Morgan, Marion, James M, Marchant Nathanial, Leon, Jackson, Samirah and Arkansas. He was the third oldest of the nine children.¹
