John Thomas 
John was born in 1834 in Scott, Tennessee.1 John's father was Stephen Thomas and his mother was Sarah Reed. His maternal grandparents were Isaac Reed and Phariba [Rachel] Hatfield. He had three brothers and two sisters, named Joseph, Isaac, William, Kezia and Mary. He was the second oldest of the six children.1 -
