Alex was born on December 9th, 1830 in Mackinac Island, Michigan.1   Alex's father was Peter Isaac Therrien and his mother was Angelique Bouchard. He had three brothers and six sisters, named Charles, Jean Baptiste, Oliver, Josette, Margureite, Ester, Marie Angelique, Elizabeth and Mary A..  He was the fourth youngest of the ten children.1
