Robert Mead was born on September 29th, 1850.1 Robert Mead's father was Robert Colwell Smith and his mother was Jane Perry. His paternal grandparents were James Smith and Ann Colwell. He had two brothers named John and Joseph Whitman. He was the oldest of the three children. He died at the age of 70 on January 3rd, 1921.1
