Benjaman Chalmers was born on May 20th, 1882 in Braidwood, IL.1 Benjaman Chalmers' father was Adam Skeldon and his mother was Mary Jane Chalmers. His paternal grandparents were Adam Skeldon and Anne Black; his maternal grandparents were Benjamin Chalmers and Catherine Gilroy. He had seven brothers and three sisters, named Adam, William, George, David Leonard, John Walter, Albert Edward, Even Daniel, Catherine, Ann Black and Eleanor Jane. He was the fourth youngest of the eleven children.1 -
