Samuel's baptism took place on October 28th, 1722 in Kirktoun Hill, Lnrk, Sctl.1   Samuel's father was Andrew Scott and his mother was Jean Simpson. He had seven brothers and two sisters, named William, John, James, Nathaniel, Thomas, Walter, Andrew, Jean and Rachell.1
