Chloe J. was born in September 1880.1 Chloe J.'s father was John W. Sawyer and her mother was Minnie Nancy Hutchings. Her paternal grandparents were James H. Sawyer and Hannah Mann; her maternal grandparents were James Cooke Hutchings and Emeline Lawrence. She had four brothers named Edwin John, Frederick Wesley, Raymond Leslie and William R.. She was the second oldest of the five children.1 -
