Luritta was born on May 22nd, 1812 in Sharon, Hillsboro Co., NH.1   Luritta's father was Thomas Ryan and her mother was Polly Nichols.  Her paternal grandparents were Daniel Ryan and Sarah Mehoney. She had four brothers and two sisters, named Lyman, Alexander, Daniel, Joseph, Laura and Martha. She had three half-brothers and a half-sister, named Samuel, John, Isaac and Fanny.1
