Caleb was born in 1766.1   Caleb's father was Jacob Roller and his mother was Mary Hammer.  His maternal grandparents were Johannes Hammer and Jane. He had five brothers and two sisters, named Jacob, Michael, John, Baltzer, Philip, Margaret and Mary.  He was the youngest of the eight children.  He died at the age of 82 in 1848.1
