John Lester was born on July 2nd, 1884.1   John Lester's father was John Wesley Rewis and his mother was Georgian Holland.  His paternal grandparents were James Madison Rewis and Mary Cowart; his maternal grandparents were Lewis Holland and Caroline Sapp. He had seven brothers and four sisters, named James Harley, Marshall, Millard, Bane Braxton, William Clark, Gladston, Clyde, Lottie, Essie, Mary Lena and Sula.  He died at the age of 71 on January 7th, 1956.1
