John C. was born about April 1861 in PRAGUE, BOHEMIA.1 John C.'s father was John Prohaska and his mother was Josephine Krokil. His paternal grandparents were John Prohaska and Marie Huibe. He had six brothers and two sisters, named Frank, Edward E, Henry, Charles, Lewis Anthony, Joseph E, Florence Anna and Grace Marie. He was the second oldest of the nine children.1 General Notes

IN THE ATTACHED SOCIAL SECURITY DEATH LIST FOR OREGON, HIS FIRST SON (LESLIE) IS LISTED AS DYING IN MAY OF 1976 IN PORTLAND, OREGON. THERE ARE OTHER PROHASKA'S LISTED IN THIS SOC SEC DEALTH LIST AND I WOULD NOT BE AT ALL SURPRISED THAT THESE ARE ALL RELATIVE OF JOHN.
