George Francis Popham 
George Francis was born on August 27th, 1872 in Beaufort Co., SC.1 George Francis' father was John William Popham and his mother was Katherine Eliza Mulligan. His maternal grandparents were Francis Mulligan and Eliza Lavonia Dean. He had four brothers and six sisters, named Andrew Caulder, John Bernard, Willeridge Jones, Percey Edward, Eliza Rebecca, Sarah B., Goldie V., Annie C., Mary Elizabeth and Irma Vivian. He was the oldest of the eleven children. He died at the age of 61 in 1933. He was buried in Ridgeland, Jasper Co., SC.1 1 General Notes
