Josephine May Pitts 
Josephine May was born on July 17th, 1867 in Benton County, Iowa.1 Josephine May's father was Cadwallader Jones Pitts and her mother was Susan Jane Bryson. Her paternal grandparents were Cadwallader Pitts and Elizabeth Stanley; her maternal grandparents were John Fielding Bryson and Ellizabeth Sparger. She had six brothers and five sisters, named John Francis, Emery Franklin, Thomas Adolphus, Oliver Cromwell, Wilbern (William) Perry, C. Benjamin, Mary Eliza, Elizabeth Jane, Sarah Melissa, Nora Isabelle and Corena Nevada. She was the third youngest of the twelve children. She died at the age of 4 on December 24th, 1871.1 -
