Emery Franklin Pitts 
Emery Franklin was born on November 2nd, 1852 in Benton County, Iowa.1 Emery Franklin's father was Cadwallader Jones Pitts and his mother was Susan Jane Bryson. His paternal grandparents were Cadwallader Pitts and Elizabeth Stanley; his maternal grandparents were John Fielding Bryson and Ellizabeth Sparger. He had five brothers and six sisters, named John Francis, Thomas Adolphus, Oliver Cromwell, Wilbern (William) Perry, C. Benjamin, Mary Eliza, Elizabeth Jane, Sarah Melissa, Nora Isabelle, Josephine May and Corena Nevada. He was the fourth oldest of the twelve children. He died at the age of 77 in January 1930.1 -
