David was born in 1806.1   David's father was Benjamin Phillips and his mother was Charity Herrick.  His paternal grandparents were Caleb Phillips and Martha Bishop. He had three brothers and three sisters, named Signor, Allen, Jared L, Rispa, Sabrah and Charity.  He died at the age of 58 in 1864 in Tinmouth, VT.1
