William Henry was born on March 23rd, 1874.1   William Henry's father was George Wakefield Phelps and his mother was Ellen Maria Forbes.  His paternal grandparents were William Henry Phelps and Lucy Clarissa Wakefield; his maternal grandparents were William A. Forbes and Minerva Shears. He had two brothers and a sister, named Lancelot Laurence, Lancelot and Judith Bigelow.  He was the second youngest of the four children.  He died at the age of 92 in February 1967.1
