SECOND GENERATION
Isaac Owen [2] (John [1]), was born at Windsor May 27, 1670 and died at Simsbury June 13, 1736; buried in Old Poquonock Cemetery. He married December 20, 1694 Sarah Holcomb, who was born February 1, 1673 and died January 22, 1763 aged 90 (inscription East Granby). She was the daughter of Benajah Holcomb and his second wife, Sarah Eno, of Windsor. Her Paternal grandfather was Thomas Holcomb and her maternal grandfather was James Eno.
In 1695 John Owen gave to his son Isaac a parcel of land in the part of Windsor called Poquonock; and in 1697 John Owen made over to his sons Isaac and Obadiah certain other lands. In 1708 Isaac Owen of Windsor bought Lot No. 18 in Simsbury from his brother, Joseph Owen.
In 1709 Isaac enlisted in Capt. Collin's Company, Col. William Whiting's Regiment, to go on an expedition against Canada. He received 1 L 9 shillings bounty.
The baptisms of Isaac Owen's children are recorded in the Simsbury Church records by the Rev. D. Woodbridge--Sarah and Rebecca in 1698, Ann in 1700, Elijah in 1707. In his will he names his wife Sarah, his sons Isaac and Elijah, his daughters Rebecca, Ann, Sarah Phelps, and Deborah Eno.
