Emma Louisa was born on March 10th, 1844 in Nauvoo,Hancock,IL.1 Emma Louisa's father was Alanson Norton and her mother was Sarah Maria (Sally) Freeman. Her maternal grandparents were Silas Freeman and Sarah (Sally) French. She had a brother and six sisters, named Charles, Harriet Emeline, Lucy Ellen, Mary Eliza, Martha Elmina, Althea Marie and Sarah Aldura. She was the fourth youngest of the eight children.1 -
