Alvin S. Martin 
Alvin S. was born on August 19th, 1838 in Ellisburg, Jefferson County, New York. Alvin S.'s father was Sedate Paddle Martin and his mother was Almira Nash. His maternal grandparents were Samuel Nash and Lydia Mixer. He had three brothers and four sisters, named Amos, Milton Delbert, Lewis, Cherilla, Lucinda, Mary E. and Elizabeth E.. He was the third oldest of the eight children. He died at the age of 60 on August 30th, 1898 in Colchester, McDonough County, Illinois. He was buried on September 1st, 1898 in Lower Cemetery, Colchester, Illinois.General Notes

Alvin Martin died yesterday at his residence 5 miles southwest of Colchester age 60 years; he was a Civil War Veteran. The funeral was today in the Lower Cemetery
