Josephine was born on February 15th, 1867 in Effingham Co., GA.1 Josephine's father was Lewis Mallette and her mother was Eliza Ann Grace Wilson. Her paternal grandparents were Gideon Mallette and Hannah Elizabeth DeRoche; her maternal grandparents were Gabriel Wilson and Sarah Oglesby. She had six brothers and a sister, named James Allen, William Barnet, George H., Elbert G., Joseph, Jerry A. and Julia. She was the youngest of the eight children. She died at the age of 1 on June 28th, 1868 in Effingham Co., GA.1 General Notes
