Elmina was born on January 18th, 1851.1   Elmina's father was Buckner B. Jones and her mother was Margaret Kennedy.  Her maternal grandparents were Stephen Kennedy and Mary Holland. She had five brothers named Bazil E., Stephen, Jehu, Jimmerson and John Morgan.  She was the oldest of the six children.  She died at the age of 52 on May 9th, 1903.1
