Ida May was born on June 11th, 1866 in Irasburg, VT.1   Ida May's father was John Huntington and her mother was Maria Metcalf. She had two brothers and eight sisters, named Dana John, Charles, Ella Jane, Myra E., Mary A., Sarah Maria, Lydia, Edna E., Emma A. and Anna.  She was the third youngest of the eleven children.1
