Johanna was born about 1630 in Hartford, Windsor, Conneticut.1   Johanna's father was William Hosford and her mother was Florence Hayward.  Her paternal grandfather was Job Hosford. She had a brother and two sisters, named John, Hester and Sara.  She was the youngest of the four children.1
