1   Victor's father was Charlie Hook and his mother was Emma Jane Clifton.  His paternal grandparents were John Hook and Ann Unknown; his maternal grandparents were Thomas Clifton and Mary Ann Leaton. He had two brothers and four sisters, named Leonard, Walter Or Wallace, Nellie, Violet, Edith and Ethel.1
