1   Wyman's father was John Hoey and his mother was Caroline L Pierce.  His paternal grandparents were John Hoey and Mary Scott. He had five brothers and two sisters, named Charles, Cornelius, Harman, John, William, Marion and Elizabeth. He had two half-sisters named Agnes and Mary.1
