Herbert was born on August 4th, 1905.  Herbert's father was Henry Haselhuhn and his mother was Ida Theresa Rusch.  His paternal grandparents were George Frederick Haselhuhn and Mary Florip. He had two brothers and three sisters, named Unknown, Henry Emiel, Edna Amelia, Unknown and Ruth.  He was the oldest of the six children. He had a half-brother named Eldred.  He died at the age of 80 on November 4th, 1985 in Rogers City, Presque Isle County, Michigan.
