Minnie was born in 1867 in Rock Island, Rock Island, IL.1   Minnie's father was Frank Hamilton and her mother was Eliza Carl.  Her maternal grandparents were George Carl and Elizabeth Unknown. She had seven brothers and two sisters, named Allen, Benton, Paul, Grant, Lee, Carl, Unknown, Lenora and Fanny.1
