Sarah was born about 1812.1   Sarah's father was Richard Griffith and her mother was Savaria Jane [Sorphia]. She had seven brothers and four sisters, named Andrew, Joseph, Daniel, William, Armstead H, Louis, Allen, Elizebeth, Jane [Jennie], Rebecca and Lucretia.  She was the third oldest of the twelve children.1
