Barthelemi's father was Jean Gobeil\Gobeille and his mother was Jeanne Guiet\Guyet. His paternal grandparents were Pierre Gobeil and Catherine Chaigneau; his maternal grandparents were Pierre Guyet and Gabrielle Roquier. He had a brother and six sisters, named Laurent, Francoise, Jeanne Angelique, Catherine, Jeanne, Marie Francoise and Marguerite. He was buried in St. Jean Ile d'Orleans, Province of Quebec, Canada.-
