David was born on December 28th, 1790 in Frederick Co, MD.1   David's father was Frantz Geisinger and his mother was Sarah Levi.  His maternal grandfather was David Levi. He had three brothers and eight sisters, named John Jacob, Samuel Levy, William F, Elizabeth, Charlotte, Henrietta (Harriet), Sarah, Margasin B, Rebecca, Ann Margaret and Muriah C.  He was the oldest of the twelve children.1
